The client wanted a system that was: 

• Reliable 
• Easy to control 
• Had Good water pressure/flow 
• Designer flat panel radiators 

To make the system reliable, we installed two Keston C55 condensing boilers and linked them together on a rig to give 110KW. What this basically means is that if one boiler develops a fault, the other will cut in until the fault is fixed. 

To make it easy to control, we added: 

• 3 x heating zones 
• 1 x lower ground floor 
• 1 x GF + 1st F 
• 1 x 2nd + 3rd 
• 1 x hot water zone 

To make sure the end user had enough water pressure/flow to all outlets, we fitted: 

• 2 x 500 Ltr accumulators 

The accumulators store mains water at pressure and, when needed, add to the mains water supply to the house. To give some idea of how it can add to a system. During installation, I filled the system and then isolated the mains water into the house. There were many contractors on site using water, and it took three days before they noticed a drop in pressure. 

As there were multiple bathrooms, shower rooms, w.c., and kitchens, we fitted: 

• 1 x Keston 400 Ltr unvented hot water cylinder 

This stored enough hot water for the property and had an amazing reheat time of 20 minutes.
